This is shown by the latest customs statistics from the People’s Republic. These indicate that natural Stone (http://g603.net) exports increased by almost 20 per cent from 924 million dollars in 2002 to over 1.1 billion dollars in 2003. The increase in the previous year was slightly less than 21 per cent.

Growing Imports
Natural Stone (http://g603.net) imports to China are currently growing even more strongly than exports in percentage terms. According to the Chinese customs statistics, these rose in value from 438 to 582 million dollars or almost 33 per cent from 2002 to 2003. By far the most important natural Stone (http://g603.net) region in China is Xiamen in the South-East of the country. Around 65 per cent of the export volume in 2003 was attributed to this Stone (http://g603.net) centre.
